Self Marketing

Ok, so I know I have to market myself somehow

But I am Against Spam and similar types of unsolicited systems. I have no advertising budget and I, don't believe in those multiple submit to search engine programs

I need to attract users to my website and hopefully they will click on some ads and help Make me some money. I know that I don't often click on ads myself so can I really expect others to ?

Some of my indirect marketing includes:

Manually submitting my page to the BIG search engines

Finding the Keywords that already point to other 's websites and getting links to my website

Creating public profiles on sites that are already indexed by search engines and including my website in the profile

Creating this blog

My site needs to offer some service that wee bring people back again and again

I am thinking of a custom portal idea

My initial idea

My first idea was to create a website, http://www.BWebCentral.com. This site is to serve 3 main purposes.

1) I hope to attract people to the site by offering lots of tips and tools to help make them more efficient and effective at their work. I hope the site to grow based on comments from users

2) I added a section http://www.BWebCentral.com/resume which lists lots of information about me, sort-of my online marketing tool.

3) Perhaps if people click on the ads I can generate some revenue or sell products direct from my site to make some extra money.

I was very impressed with how cheap I could get the site for from www.GoDaddy.com. They called me back immediately after signing up to ask if I had any questions, I found the process very easy and useful and would recommend them to anyone wanting to setup a website for an excellent price

G'Deed system: Good Idea?

Original Jan 15/06

"Pay It Forward" Style Email System:

Idea: G'Deed - Set of rules that state a Pay it Forward System:

Choose a person from your address book to send the email to

If you received a G'Deed from someone else then the person you choose cannot be known to the person your received the G'Deed from.

To do a G'Deed pick a small token that you can do for the person, example send them a virtual hug, or donate to a charity in their name, give them some 'thing' that might make them feel good, include a reference to the G'Deed system so that they can do another G'Deed for
someone else.

G'Deed's cannot be used as SPAM, you can send multiple G'Deed's to people but each G'Deed must be separate and you cannot have multiple recipients in a G'Deed. The G'Deed email can contain a list of past people that have received G'Deed's and what the G'Deed was but not
necessarily contain personal information. Every so often the G'Deed list is mailed to BwebCentral for posting.

BwebCenral will have a 'Hall of Shame' people for people using the G'Deed without following the rules !

The idea to have my own company has been something I have been thinking about for a long time now. I suppose the keyword here is ‘thinking’. Over the years I have had many product ideas and concepts, but never quite the ‘nerve’ to undertake my own business.

First off, there is the risk involved. I mean what do I know about running my own business? I have a job, I am paid…well okay I guess…I have a wife and child to take care of, you know the ‘R’ word right? How do I know if I am an entrepreneur. If it wasn’t for my spellchecker, I don’t think I could even spell the word.

Here’s what I do know:

I love to plan: I don’t know why this is, but as far back as I can remember I have been coming up with plans for one thing or another. Most things never quite work out as I imagined them but often they work out better somehow. The ‘somehow’ has always fascinated me, so I make more plans to figure out why this is.

I want to help other small business.
