Just Do It
This reminds me of that Nike commercial. I think the trick is to strike and approperiate balance between quality and deadlines. In the end you need to be producing work that you and your clients can be proud of, but not killing yourself doing it. Still these are some good tips, and a very nice article. The duality of passion
In this weeks podlet, I discuss the good and the bad of passion. That thing that gets us up in the morning, that motivates us and maintaining the balance between order and organization. Have you ever experienced this yourself? What are the sort of things you are passionate about? Does inspirational passion take a hold of you only to leave you to pick up the pieces afterwards?
Thoughts on Passion
Today I was thinking about passion, and the duality of my nature. I was reflecting on and relating to the idea of a 'work-a-holic' getting a glimpse of what it must be like to be one.
On one side, we have my very predictiable life and behaviour. This is something that gives me great power, and happiness in my life. I'm not a big fan of large changes, and often feel overwhelmed by them. I eat basically the same foods, do the same work, and life the same life each day. And I LOVE IT that way. I thrive on ordered lists, to do's, semi-organization giving me a sense of normality.
My passionite side though can be quite different. I can go through these inspirational periods where one thing is the focus on my mind for long periods of time. Two examples that come to my mind are a) the upcoming birth of my new child and b) updates and new writings for my website. Sometimes I can be very intensed and focused and driven from dawn to dusk (and even in my sleep) on one thing, to the determint and exclusion of all else.
So like most things I have discovered, passion can be both a blessing and a curse. For a time it gets our juices pumping, our endorphin levels rising, gives us energy and makes us feel excited. But in the meantime we are thrown from our routine, fall out of schedule, perhaps miss other important activites in our life.
Have you ever experienced this yourself? What are the sort of things you are passionite about? Does inspirational passion take a hold of you and leave you in a shambles afterwards?
It can be a very delicate balance to maintain, but passion can come and go like a wave, and hopefully for most of us does not hold on too long, less we 'burn-out'. But when the wave comes we ride it and hold on as best we can, and then bring ourselves back to normality in the end.

Bad Facebook advertising?
I had seen this facebook advertising myself the other day, but didn't really pay attention to it, as I was just on for a quick moment. These types of nudie advertisments are common all over the web, but it is the first I've seen it on facebook.

Is Confidence Fickle?
In this weeks podlet, I talk about the idea of "false confidence" and the illusion that we often feel that we are in control, when really we are not.
So, in the end is confidence really something that is usefull? How can we tell the difference if we are truely confident about something or falsely confient about something. Here are some of my thoughts.Read More... http://www.bwebcentral.com/blog/2/633

Simply Bill Invoicing
Since I don't like to do too much outside work, it's free for me because you anyone can create up to 3 invoices / month for free. So it doesn't really cost me anything to use. Though if my business were to ever grow, I certainly would shell out the extra $5/month for 25 invoices/month. [Really BIG companies can get unlimited invoiceing for just $25/month].
What I like best is that it's all kept in a nice easy to find format, and when it's time to make forms for the tax man, I can easily have a record of all the invoices that I need to report.
If you are looking for quick easy invoicing, I suggest giving it a try as well at http://www.simplybill.com/
**This post is NOT sponsered by SimplyBill , but if they want to pay me for the promotion that would be nice too :-(
