The importance of Timesheets

Jxlogo_future

Does it happen where you work too?

Every week we are required to fill out our time sheets, but not just one timesheet, sometimes two or 3. Each timesheet is for a different department, but they all say essentially the same thing. Some are just in more detail then othes.

Now I'm actually for timesheets. I think they can be a useful personal management tool for managing Online Time and Expense If nothing else, they help me keep track of where I have spent my time, to compare to where I budgeted my time for a particular period and figure out how best to plan my time in the future. They also are great to help me keep track of sick days, vacation days etc

If you are in an industry that does client billing, they are also a very useful to keep track of how much to bill to your client. Some government grants will pay for certain positions or a percentage of those positions, in this case a timesheet can help keep track of how much of a persons time is available for credit.

In project planning, a timesheet helps the project manager compare estimates to actuals and improve upon the estimation process, and increase the quality of estimates and on-time delivery.

So all in all, timesheets can be an important measurement tool, but let us not forget the 'rule of double entry', we should never have to do it, NEVER, so entering timesheet data in more then one place is a waste of time.

But you don't just have to belive me, you can also check out these
